One thought on “The Council’s Cabinet decision on school closure

  1. There is NO way this school can close and our children will not be catching no bus to a new school in Margam. Going all that way to a school so far away and we did not ask for all that money to be spent in the school anyway or wanted them to build a new school that was their decision as we are staying put so they should have spent a fraction of that money on Cyner Comp as it will be the end if it does close. Many children will miss out on their education as will not travel all that way to a place they know nothing about and they will either miss school days or not attend at all as will not be happy in such a vast school. There will be a lot of bullying to our children as we will be classed as outsiders and they will not be able to do any after school clubs or sport due to travel distance and done parents don’t drive either. I would love to see if it was their family in the school would they decide otherwise then??? Keep Cyner comp open even see how it goes for a couple of years, please please I beg of you. My child needs Cymer comp as will not cope in another school so far away and so big and is a very quiet child so will not cope there. Think of our children and the children from the primary schools that will be going there. We need to keep education in our valley not in Margam it’s unheard of it will be the end of everything for our children and grandchildren. Do not close it please. Cymer comp has one of the high rates compared to the other schools and good attendance so we cannot close. Our children are happy every day going to such a lovely small school and they thrive they will not make no grades if they are moved that will be the end of their education. I hope reading this will change your minds for at least a couple of years reprieve. Please please please keep our school open
