History

History allows pupils to investigate, question and seek to understand the world in which they live.

Within the department we focus on Active History, where pupils learn through role plays and other engaging activities in a unique and fun manner. Pupils’ have the opportunity to reenact famous battles or even execute (hang, draw and quarter) their teacher! This approach helps to spark a deeper understanding of the past and a genuine love for the subject.

Pupils are also given the opportunity to become independent learners by investigating the murder of the Princes in the Tower and exploring why the Tollund man was killed.

The unique, interactive and humorous approach challenges and engages students of all abilities to develop life long learning skills
