RE as a subject is required by law in order to help us knowmore about the religions which exist within out society. In doing so, we are able to develop more of understanding about ourselves and what we believe about life. We don’t need to be religious to study religion but we do need to approach it with an open, unprejudiced mind in order to develop a full idea of it. During RE lessons, we will focus on the following skills.
– exploring important fundamental questions (questions about life) in order to help you develop your own opinions in an informed manner.
– explore religious beliefs, teachings and practices in order to know more about religions and why their followers behave as they do.
– express your own opinions in an informed manner as to what you think about the topics being explored.
